Christmas 2016 Appeal

Sadly today, many horses in the UK are in desperate, urgent need of help. Abandoned and neglected, they are left to fend for themselves. And with the harsh winter weather already upon us, the bitter cold will inevitably take its toll on their health and wellbeing.

Only supporters like you can stop more horses from suffering.

World Horse Welfare exists to give these beautiful animals the chance to have safer, happier, healthier lives, now and in the future.  We hope that you continue to share our passionate belief that all horses should be saved from pain, misery and neglect.

You can help in a very special way this Christmas. Your donation today of just £15 can help with essential gifts for suffering horses like Maggie, Rosie and Jim

Rosie and Jim’s story

Maggie, her seven month-old foal Rosie and another seven month-old foal Jim were all in terrible condition when our Field Officer first found them.

Maggie, the mare, was dangerously underweight. Her ribs were showing and she had angry, infected sores on her skin.

Maggie was in dreadful condition

Maggie showed great courage in caring for both foals despite her own appalling condition. But tragically Maggie’s own neglect had already caused too much damage to her liver and she had to be put to sleep to relieve her from any further suffering. Rosie and Jim are now at Glenda Spooner Farm where they are receiving the vital nutrition and loving care they so richly deserve.

It’s so easy to help more horses this winter, just click on the amount you would like to give to make your donation.

Your support can and does make a vital difference by bringing warmth and human kindness into the lives of horses and ponies who may have only ever known abuse and neglect.

Please make a donation today so we can help horses in need right now. Thank you.
