Belwade Farm Aboyne Open Day 3rd September 2017
Our Belwade Farm Open day promises to be a fun day out for the whole family to enjoy, celebrating 90 years of World Horse Welfare.
On the day you can watch our many demonstrators who will be in our indoor area. Some of these will include Equestrian Vaulters from Kinross Vaulting Group, Icelandic Ponies, Western Riding, Riding Club, Pony Club Games, our local Deeside Riding for the Disabled group, Pauline Kidd, Equestrian Performance Specialist, our Belwade residents will be showing you what they can do and much more.
This event has been kindly sponsored by Dodosn and Horrell, horse feed specialists. Meg from the Dodson and Horrell team will be here all day and will be answer any questions you have on the range of horse feeds as well as the dog food ranges, Chudleys, Autarky and Gusto. Please do pop past and say hello to Meg and pick up some samples. A huge thank you to Dodson and Horrell for supporting this fundraising event.
Deeside Camera club will be hosting a photography exhibition in our conference room where you can view many of the club member’s images which they have captured this year. These images will be for sale and the camera club members will be available to provide more information on the images to visitors.
Carriage Rides will be available from Ewan and his team from Maryculter Carriage Driving Centre. These will give visitors the opportunity to experience riding on one of the carriages being led by a team of stunning horses. Lucy and her and fantastic ponies from Khalsabana Stables will be providing pony rides.
Mini workshops and information and advice will be available from our professional Belwade team including our farrier, physiotherapist and dentist. If you are interested in rehoming a horse or pony our staff we be available to answer any questions you may have.
Give our forge a visit when you can watch shoes being made and horses being shod throughout the day.
The gun dog display is always popular and this year we have Kenny Smart returning with some of his dogs to put on a display of all things gun dog.
Please take your terrier along and take part in our terrier racing. This is great fun to watch and if you take your terrier along you may even win a prize.
Bobs Buddies will be here and offering visitors the opportunity to experience holding their stunning owls.
As well as all these activities we will have a children’s fun area to keep the wee ones entertained. Party Box will be here and Love Rara will be offering Face painting, glitter tattoos and some fun activities throughout the day.
We have Deesidedly Tasty and Sheridans offering external catering and in the Belwade Bistro we will be offering teas, coffees and cakes. Belwade Bistro has a fully licenced bar which will also be open all day. For those of you who like a sweet treat there will be candy floss, popcorn and slushies available to purchase.

Please note the demonstrations, workshops, and the photography exhibition, Love Rara dancing and games and car parking are all included in your ticket price. There will be charges for carriage rides, pony rides; children’s rides etc on the day. Please do take cash with you as we do not have a cash machine on site.
Entry to this event will be between 10.30am and 12pm with exit thereafter. This is for the health and safety of all users on our single track driveway. Emergency vehicles will have entry and exit throughout the day. First aid station will be within the visitor centre.
Tickets are currently available to purchase from the visitor centre at Belwade Farm. You can also purchase tickets by calling 013398 85398 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Ticket prices are £10 for a family (2 adults & maximum of 3 children), £3 per adult and £2 per child with under 1 year olds going free of charge.
