Tack donations

World Horse Welfare groom Gemma and pony Alvin

Interested in helping horses by donating tack which you no longer use?

Thank you very much for your interest in donating tack to us - we are always very grateful for any donations of clean, good quality tack. However, unfortunately we are unable to collect such donations ourselves and so we appeal to would-be donors to find other ways of getting the items to us.

One option is for you to take it to one of our Centres: might it be possible for you to get together with family or like-minded friends and visit one of our Rescue and Rehoming Centres for a day out? Our Centres open at weekends and hold events which you can attend as well as meeting the horses who are directly benefiting from your generosity. Find out more details about visiting our farms and locate our nearest Centre to you.

Alternatively, might it be possible for you to post the items you wish to donate to our Head Office in Snetterton, Norfolk? The address for our Head Office is: World Horse Welfare, Anne Colvin House, Snetterton, Norwich, Norfolk, NR16 2LR.

Another option may be for you to sell the items yourself – for instance, through your local tack shop, newspaper or on eBay – and send us a donation.

Items we can take include: bridles – either complete or separate items; bits; stirrup leathers; girths; horse boots – e.g. brushing boots; and clothing – e.g. riding jackets or jodhpurs; and grooming equipment. Please note that: for Health & Safety reasons we can only accept rugs that have been cleaned or washed; we cannot accept saddles, riding hats or body protectors; and we do not take donated items overseas.

Thank you very much again for your support and your interest in donating tack to us – we really do appreciate it. We hope the above information is helpful for you, but please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us by email or phone us on 01953 498682 if you need any more details about tack donations.
