Meet Ino

Lovely little Ino is now looking for her new home as a non-ridden companion. When Ino first arrived at Belwade she was a very nervous little mare, but after a lot of patience and hard work with her groom she came on leaps and bounds and was successfully rehomed for a number of years. Though more confident, Ino can still get unsettled in new environments, so it can take her a couple weeks to settle in. Once she gets to know her new handler and routine, she really comes out of her shell. She will now come straight up to us in the field and will walk in nicely and stand to have a groom. She is currently going through a weight loss programme and will need to continue this out at her new home. To help aid with her weight loss, Ino's groom has slowly been introducing her to clipping and using pressure-release work has now been able to give her a small clip. Ino does have suspected scarring or cataract in her right eye, but the vet said she can still see shapes/shadows out of it, she just won’t see anything in detail out of that eye. If you think that Ino sounds like the companion for you, please apply online.

Important stuff

Ino can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Ino is not suitable to be worked.

History

Ino came into World Horse Welfare care as one of a group of 20 that were taken into Belwade in September 2018. The group had originally been an RSPCA welfare case.
