Diamond
Meet Diamond
Diamond, or Dime as she is affectionately known, is a sweet pony who loves having a fuss. She does rely on other horses so she needs a companion at all times in the field. Initially Dime can become stressed when led away from her friends alone, but with time and a regular routine she overcomes this. Dime will require a calm, confident handler as in stressful situations she can forget her manners. However, she is not a rude pony at all and simply looks to her handler for reassurance. Generally she is an attentive, well behaved mare who learns quickly. Dime is better suited to a small herd with only one or two companions who she can form a close bond with as she can feel insecure in a large herd dynamic. In a quiet home with a regular routine where she can overcome her basic insecurities, Dime could blossom into a delightful non-ridden companion.
Important stuff
Diamond can never be ridden or driven.
All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Diamond is not suitable to be worked.
History
Diamond arrived at World Horse Welfare in January 2022 after her owner contacted us for help.
