Meet Hiccup

Cute little Hiccup is now looking for his new home as a youngster. He arrived here at Belwade at the end of 2024 as an entire colt still with his mum. Hiccup has since been weaned and gelded and his confidence has come in leaps and bounds. He is a well behaved little lad, who is good to catch and lead and come in for a groom. Hiccup is good for the vet, but can be a little unsure of the farrier at times, but a little snack and some reassurance soon settles him and we feel he will grow more in confidence with each trim. We feel that Hiccup has the potential to make a fun lead rein pony in the future. Hiccup is thought to reach an estimated height of 11hh and he will be able to carry a rider that is 15% of his ideal body weight. Hiccup enjoys playing with his friends and will be better suited to gelding only turnout, as he has not been with mares since being gelded. He has become a little itchy this spring so as a precaution we are treating him as though he has mild sweet itch. Due to his size and age Hiccup will be looking for a home with friends his size where he would not be left alone. Though young hiccup has started to gain weight quickly, so he will be looking for a home with restricted grazing. If you think that Hiccup is the one for you, please apply online.
