Meet Tintin

Despite the horrific start to his young life, Tintin is a amazingly calm and sensible little chap. Nothing fazes him and he has taken everything in his stride He loves attention and being groomed, so much so he often doesn't need to be tied up to do so. Tintin is a friendly little pony who buddies up with whoever is his companion. He has been babysitting an orphan foal and he has shown himself to be a caring and protective uncle figure despite his own tender years. With his sensible attitude he could be backed in the future when he is older if his rehomer wished to do so. Tintin could make a super little lead rein pony for a small child only with a maximum rider weight limit of 3 to 3.5 stones. His mother was quite small so Tintin could be approximately 11.2hh when fully grown. We are equally happy for him to remain as a non-ridden companion to another small pony. Tintin will be a safe, reliable companion and an absolute delight to be around.

Important stuff

This horse is based at Hall Farm, where we’ve been managing a strangles outbreak in some of our horses. They have been screened using guttural pouch lavage (the gold standard test), completed a full course of strangles vaccinations, and spent time in quarantine in a green zone paddock. They are now available for rehoming as part of our phased return to normal activities.

Tintin could be worked in the future.

History

This cute little man had a horrendous start to his young life. He was only about 6 months old when he was found abandoned with his mother who was already in foal again. On closer inspection it was noticed he seemed to have his foot stuck in something which turned out to be an old tin can. When he was sedated to have this removed it was actually 2 tin cans, one inside the other! It is believed he had been like this for at least 2 weeks and he was incredibly lucky he sustained no permanent damage.
