Meet Ada

Ada was one of 26 equines cruelly crammed into a lorry to be illegally smuggled out of the UK. Their most likely destination was a slaughter house in Europe until they were stopped by the authorities at the Port of Dover. Despite all this Ada has proved to be a delightful young mare with a lovely temperament. She is very good to handle and is an affectionate pony who loves a fuss. She is a little head shy so needs gentle handling in that area but otherwise she is as good as gold. Shortly after arrival Ada was found to be in foal and she later gave birth to a healthy young filly. She proved to be an excellent mother and very protective of her new baby. This plucky little mare is looking for a new home where she can be given the love and respect she so deserves.

Important stuff

This horse is based at Hall Farm, where we’ve been managing a strangles outbreak in some of our horses. They have been screened using guttural pouch lavage (the gold standard test), completed a full course of strangles vaccinations, and spent time in quarantine in a green zone paddock. They are now available for rehoming as part of our phased return to normal activities.

Ada can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Ada is not suitable to be worked.
