Meet Nelson

Nelson is a great little horse who is very polite and aims to please. He thrives in a regular routine and would suit an experienced handler who is happy to help him continue to grow in confidence. Nelson is a friendly horse who gets on well with others in his herd. Nelson loves attention and has a sweet, sensitive disposition. Nelson is not suitable to ride, but this honest, genuine boy makes a great field companion to others

Important stuff

This horse is based at Hall Farm, where we’ve been managing a strangles outbreak in some of our horses. They have been screened using guttural pouch lavage (the gold standard test), completed a full course of strangles vaccinations, and spent time in quarantine in a green zone paddock. They are now available for rehoming as part of our phased return to normal activities.

Nelson can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Nelson is not suitable to be worked.

History

Nelson and his mother were part of a large RSPCA welfare case. All were unhandled, suffering from lice and underweight. Nelson was recently returned from loan following a change in circumstances of his rehomer.
