Local Field Officers

Our team of 17 Field Officers makes over 2,500 initial and follow-up visits to welfare concerns every year as well as checking on our rehomed horses.

Our team of 17 Field Officers makes over 2,500 initial and follow-up visits to welfare concerns every year as well as checking on our rehomed horses.

Our Field Officers are inspiring. They never know what call will come next, and they never hesitate to drop everything to go out to an emergency situation.

All our Field Officers are highly experienced.

  • They each come from a background which has given them excellent horse knowledge as well as a thorough understanding of the law.
  • They know when a situation can be resolved by a sympathetic ear and some timely advice and support, but they also know when a stronger approach is necessary.
  • They come into contact with people from all different backgrounds and in all sorts of situations and they deal with each and every one of these as well as they can to get the best result possible for the horse.

As well as the essential work they do responding to welfare concerns, the Field Officers, along with our team of Rehoming Officers, also make regular visits to our rehomed horses to make sure everything is going smoothly.

Finally, all our Field Officers give talks to groups in their area about the work that we do to help horses.  If you are interested in arranging a talk, please contact +44 (0)1953 498 682 or info@worldhorsewelfare.org.
