Meet Captain Tom

Captain Tom was born at Hall Farm. Tom has been well handled and is a polite pony who is easy to care for. He is a playful boy and likes to have a friend who will indulge him. Captain Tom is an affectionate chap who enjoys a fuss and quickly forms a bond with his handler. He is not suitable to ride but he is a delight to have around and will blossom in any yard with a regular routine.

Important stuff

This horse is based at Hall Farm, where we’ve been managing a strangles outbreak in some of our horses. They have been screened using guttural pouch lavage (the gold standard test), completed a full course of strangles vaccinations, and spent time in quarantine in a green zone paddock. They are now available for rehoming as part of our phased return to normal activities.

Captain Tom can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Captain Tom is not suitable to be worked.

History

Captain Tom was born at Hall Farm in April 2020 after his mother was signed over as part of a large multi horse welfare case. He was recently returned from loan following a change in circumstances.
