Meet Bullseye

Bullseye is an adorable wee cob that is ready to find his new home to live out his golden years. When he originally arrived, Bullseye had an infected left eye from an old injury which had to be removed by our vet. He recovered brilliantly and became much happier in himself. Although he has limited sight it does not seem to affect him as he is such a friendly wee pony. He can sometimes be a little spooky, but it is just if he hasn’t seen what’s going on as quickly as other ponies would. Bullseye is good to catch and absolutely adores people. He will happily stand all day in the barn to be pampered by his groom. Although he is a small cob, he does not need his grazing overly restricted so would suit a home with a larger horse. He is extremely chilled out about life and is looking for friends who enjoy a similar life style as he is often bullied by the more playful horses in the field. Due to his missing eye Bullseye can get a little tight in his left shoulder as he often does not bend that way, so he is not overly keen on the farrier putting that front leg out and between their leg but is as good as gold for his other legs. Bullseye’s stomach does not cope well to changes in diet, leading to him getting an upset tummy, but we have found keeping him on brewer’s yeast and arabica gum keeps his tummy settled. We suspect this is due to a poor start in life leading to him having a poor microbiome. If you think you could offer this lovely pony a new home where he will receive lots of attention, please apply online.

Important stuff

Bullseye can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Bullseye is not suitable to be worked.

History

Bullseye came into World Horse Welfare care in February 2020 as part of a welfare case with eight other ponies and he was underweight on arrival. Bullseye had an infected left eye from an old injury which had to be removed by our vet. He recovered brilliantly.
