Meet Roadside Mischief

Mini mischief is now looking for her new home as a non-ridden companion. When Mischief first arrived back in 2021, she was a very nervous Shetland who would go straight into fight or flight mode and it took her a while to come round to the grooms, but once they built her trust up, she was a whole new pony. She can still be a little cautious allowing new people to catch her, but once you have gained her trust she will happily catch for some sweeties. Mischief loves going out and about for walks on the farm and coming in for a groom and a good belly scratch. Mischief is well behaved for the farrier, she just prefers them to introduce themselves at her head, before starting to ask for a foot. As she is so small Mischief will be looking for a home with friends her size and due to a bout of laminitis in the past she will need her grazing restricted. Due to her previous laminitis Mischief developed a fear over vets and needles so her groom has been working on some desensitisation of needles and she has come on leaps and bounds. With a patient vet that takes their time she will now allow them to treat her. Mischief will need a home who is willing to spend time gaining her trust and keeping up with her handling. We feel due to her history that she would be best suited to a teen/adult home, as we feel she could feel overwhelmed by smaller children. If you think you can offer mischief a new home please apply online.

Important stuff

Roadside Mischief can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Roadside Mischief is not suitable to be worked.

History

Mischief originally arrived back in Dec 2021 very nervous of people and has since been out in a home.
