Meet Into The Blue

Blue was one of 26 horses cruelly crammed into a lorry to be illegally smuggled out of the UK. It is believed they were destined for slaughter in Europe. Blue is a sensitive soul who relies on his companions for reassurance. He is fairly submissive in the herd as he lacks confidence, although this is hardly surprising considering what he has already been through at such a young age. Blue will require a regular routine and a compassionate handler to help him overcome his insecurities. So far he has proved to be eager to learn and tries his best providing he is not rushed. If his rehomer has previous experience of producing ponies to ride, Blue may have the potential to back in the future. However, this will depend very much on how he develops and not until he is at least 5 years old. Blue may reach approximately 14.0hh when older but this is only an estimate as we have no information on his breeding. If this is the case, he would have a maximum rider limit of 9 to 9.5 stones. We are equally happy for Blue to be rehomed as purely a non-ridden companion for the rest of his days where with love and kindness he can put his horrific ordeal behind him.

Important stuff

This horse is based at Hall Farm, where we’ve been managing a strangles outbreak in some of our horses. They have been screened using guttural pouch lavage (the gold standard test), completed a full course of strangles vaccinations, and spent time in quarantine in a green zone paddock. They are now available for rehoming as part of our phased return to normal activities.

Into The Blue could be worked in the future.
