Meet Angus

Angus is a very handsome chestnut gelding that is ready to find his perfect home as a companion pony. Angus came into Belwade farm due to dental issues which have since been treated successfully. He can be a bit of a worrier at times so is looking for someone who can take the time building up his confidence in his new surroundings. Angus is very affectionate once he gets to know his handler. He is full of character once settled and enjoys lots of attention and behaves well for our vet and farrier. Unfortunately, Angus did not take well to ridden work and it was decided that he would be much happier as a companion. Angus is currently living out full time with a group of geldings and is very playful when out in the field. He would enjoy a home with other young ponies as he has bundles of energy. Angus would become stressed if left by himself so will always need friends in the field. Due to his type he will need a home where his grazing can be heavily restricted as he is an extremely good doer. Though he is not suitable for ridden work Angus can go out for in-hand walks, to help aid with his weight loss. If you think you could offer this cracking pony a great new home, please apply online.

Important stuff

Angus can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Angus is not suitable to be worked.

History

Angus came into World Horse Welfare Care in September 2018 due to dental problems that his owner could not afford to have treated.
