Meet Timmy

Timmy is a gorgeous little strawberry roan pony who is ready to find his new home as a non-ridden companion. When he originally came into WHW he was extremely nervous but with patient handling he has transformed into a sweet wee Welsh pony with lots of character and has since been out at a home. Timmy adores his field mates, and he is often seen galloping around and playing. He would benefit from regular handling as he can sometimes be a little shy to catch but once caught, he is great for all his handling, if he is ever worried, he is pretty easy to win over with a treat. Timmy was introduced to the backing process but he could be quite reactive to the different processes so we decided for himself and his potential little riders it would be safer to make him a companion. Timmy is said to have adored children and often would prefer catching for them, so though he cannot be ridden he would be suitable around children. Although he can still be worried on occasions, he is very gentle and always tries his best to please. He would happily mix with mares or geldings and never causes any problems; he is a bit of a social butterfly and gets along well with everyone. Due to his type, he will need his weight monitored and grazing restricted so is best suited to living with other small ponies. If Timmy sounds like the right companion to join your family, we would love to hear from you.

Important stuff

Timmy can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Timmy is not suitable to be worked.

History

Timmy came into World Horse Welfare care in August 2021; he was very nervous on arrival at Belwade Farm
