Meet Toffee

Sweet little toffee is now looking for his new home as a non-ridden companion. When Toffee first arrived, he was very nervous and underweight, but with a lot of time and patience from his groom, he is now, though still timid at times, a lot more confident. Toffee will be looking for someone who is happy to take the time to allow him to settle and work on striking up a bond with him, as he can still be shy and nervous with new people. Toffee is a very sweet lad when you get to know him, and he enjoys having a good groom and a snack. Toffee will need a little food to catch as he is ear shy but once settled in his new environment he is good to catch. Toffee is wary of the vet and farrier so he will need a competent handler when he is seen by both, but being very food orientated, he often comes round to the idea. Toffee can live with friends his size, both mares and geldings, and could be left in a stable whilst his friend is out, as long as he is introduced to it slowly. Toffee gains weight easily in the summer months so he will need his grazing restricted, and weight monitored during the winter months. If you think that Toffee sounds like the gelding for you, please apply online.

Important stuff

Toffee can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Toffee is not suitable to be worked.

History

Toffee came in to the farm as part of a welfare case.
