Meet Dobbie

Cute little Dobbie or Elf as he is known to his groom, is now looking for his new home as a non-ridden companion. Elf arrived at the farm alongside 2 other Shetland’s all entire. Once settled they were castrated and allowed time for their hormone levels to drop. Little Elf was the boss of the 3 and often see’s himself as a 16hh horse. He is good to catch and is known for coming over with a little nicker for his groom as he always enjoys coming in for a groom and a pamper. Elf is well behaved for the farrier, but will be looking for someone who is willing to help his confidence with the vet as he does get nervous around needles. His groom has been doing some pressure/release work with him and he is responding well. Due to being castrated late Elf will be looking for a gelding only home, with small friends similar to his size, despite the fact he feels he is 16hh. Important stuff

Dobbie can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Dobbie is not suitable to be worked.

History

Elf came in alongside two other Shetlands after their owner was unable to provide the care they needed.
