How to train your horse for veterinary procedures

with Holly Lenaghan

At least once a year, your horse will see a vet for their annual vaccinations and a check- up. How can we make sure that horses are prepared for everything the vet would like to do?

On Wednesday 12th November we were joined by equine vet and lecturer in clinical equine practice at the University of Surrey, Holly Lenaghan. Holly discussed how we can train horses for routine veterinary procedures such as accepting needles for vaccinations and sedation. Based on her experience in practice, Holly talks us through useful techniques to help break the training down into manageable steps for both horses and horse owners to help take the sting out of vet visits.
