Meet Ken

Ken is ready to find a new home as a non ridden companion. He is a lovely, friendly little pony, but has quite a sensitive nature. He would be best suited to a private home, with an experienced, confident rehomer, where he will be handled daily and kept in a routine to help him settle into a new home. He takes a lot of confidence from his handler, and really enjoys taking part in pony agility activities and also going out for hacks ride and lead. He needs his weight watching all year round, so would be best suited to a home with ponies of similar needs. He is good to catch, handle and groom with a quiet approach, and just needs a patient approach with the vet and farrier, treats always help. Ken will stay on his own in a stable while another pony is taken out, but this would just need to be introduced gradually in a new home. If you can offer Ken a home, please apply online.

Important stuff

Ken can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Ken is not suitable to be worked.

History

Ken came into Penny Farm as part of a large welfare case. He was completely unhandled on arrival and very scared of any human interaction.
