Meet Jake

Big lad Jake is now looking for a new quiet and experienced home as a non-ridden companion. Jake enjoys a quiet yard setting in a set routine, as he does not cope well with change so it can take him a couple of weeks to settle into his new home. Jake is looking for a home where he can live out full time as he can get stressed when being stabled. Being a big and older guy Jake does not need his grazing restricted; he is also happy to live with mares and geldings of all ages. Jake will happily be pampered in his field and once settled in his new environment, is happy to come in for short periods of time for vet and farrier visits, if he has company. He is very good to catch and lead, though he is best lead on his own as he does not like other horses too close to him when he is being led. Jake does not have signs of sweet itch, but he can get very irritated when flies land on him so is kept most content with a fly rug on. Important stuff

Jake can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Jake is not suitable to be worked.

Jake came into our care in 2025 through our Horse Gifting in a Will scheme.
