Meet Sorcha

Sorcha is a beautiful bay mare that is looking for a home as a companion horse. She came to us as part of a welfare group but was already handled on arrival at Belwade Farm. Sorcha unfortunately did not take to ridden work well due to her poor conformation and movement. She was very reactive with a rider on board making her unsafe to ride. Sorcha is a very affectionate mare and will make a brilliant companion horse. Sorcha can get strong on occasion if she is feeling stressed, so she does require an experienced handler. She is always the first horse to come over when people go into her field as she adores attention. Sorcha is currently living out full time with a group of mares and gets along well with her field mates. She does gain weight easily and is still currently undergoing her weight loss, so she will be looking for friends who are also on restricted grazing. Important stuff

Sorcha can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Sorcha is not suitable to be worked.

History

Sorcha came into Belwade Farm in January 2019 as part of a welfare group with eight other horses.
