Applications closed

Meet Gretel (Nova)

***Recently, a small number of young ponies at Glenda Spooner Farm have experienced cold-like symptoms and have tested positive for a bacterial infection called Strep Zoo. Therefore, due to temporary restrictions at this centre, we are unable to accept applications for this horse at the moment. This is a precautionary measure and we look forward to reopening applications as soon as we are able to do so. We appreciate your patience and encourage you to revisit this profile for updates.*** Sweet mare Gretel (Nova) is now looking for her new home as a companion. Nova currently lives in a small herd of mares, and she is very good to handle. She can live on normal grazing and can stable part time. Nova may be able to learn to be left for short periods by her companion in the right set up and with a rehomer who is happy to take lots of time to let her settle in before teaching this skill. Due to her size, Nova will need to travel to her new home in a lorry. Nova is very needle shy and has come on leaps and bounds with her training here at the centre. She now has an established routine with the vet for injections, and we are looking for a rehomer who has some practical experience with clicker training, who is used to handling big horses and who is happy to follow our injection handling routine.
