Meet Josie

Josie is ready to find a new home as a non ridden companion due to poor back conformation. She is a lovely little pony, with a very friendly personality. She is good to catch, handle, groom, bath and for the vet and farrier. She is currently living out unrugged, with shelter with a group of mares, but will mix with geldings as well. She is a good doer, especially through the spring/summer months, so is best suited to a home with equines of similar needs who need their grazing restricted. She is able to do ground work to help with her weight. She doesn't like being left on her own without another equine around, so will need a home where she will have company at all times. If you can offer Josie a home, please apply online.

Important stuff

Josie can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Josie is not suitable to be worked.

History

Josie came in to Penny Farm as a foal at foot, with a group of mares and foals. They were found living in unsuitable conditions in a field of ragwort, and were all underweight.
