Meet Stapleford Solitaire (Johnny)

Johnny is a little dude of a pony with oodles of presence that is ready to find a new home as a companion. He has bundles of character and always makes his groom smile. Johnny was gelded late so is not suitable to be turned out with mares. He is quite a playful chap in the field and gets along well with his field mates. Johnny is often seen prancing around the field and is very full of himself! He is great to catch and groom but can fidget when tied up when the mood takes him. Johnny is good to handle and behaves well for our vet and farrier. His favourite party trick is to take his head collar off whilst he is tied up which is quite a talent. He gains weight extremely easily and is curretnly on a weight loss program. A new rehomer will need to be committed to continuing his weight loss otherwise he will be a high risk of suffering from laminitis or EMS in the future. He is currently on restricted grazing, supplemented with straw and going for regular in hand walks. Johnny love's going for his walks and is usually very forward and spritely. Unfortunately, Johnny does not have the best conformation or movement, and it was decided that he would be much happier living as a companion pony as he wouldn’t be suitable as a child’s ridden pony. He has recently had some fillings and will require six monthly dental checks to ensure he remains comfortable. If you think you could offer this handsome little pony a loving new home, please apply online.

History

Johnny came into World Horse Welfare care in October 2019. He was very shell shocked about life when he arrived and he was still entire. He was gelded at Belwade Farm and is a much more chilled out pony now.
