Coffee Shop Supervisor

Belwade Farm, Aboyne, Aberdeenshire
Permanent, Part Time, 24 hours per week
Salary: £12.82 per hour, £16,000 per annum

Our Visitor Centre at Belwade Farm in Aboyne, Aberdeenshire, is looking to recruit a Coffee Shop Supervisor to assist the Centre Manager and Visitor Centre Officer with the smooth running of the kitchen and coffee shop every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 8.30am to 5pm. You will prepare and serve a basic range of café-style food and oversee the coffee shop staff, working closely with the Centre Manager.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Supervise Coffee Shop staff under the guidance of the Centre Manager.
  • Work with the Senior Centre Promotions Officer on the range of food offered to ensure the maximum ROI.
  • Prepare, serve and present café-style food to a high standard.
  • Ensure the constant cleanliness of all kitchen and coffee shop fixtures, fittings, utensils, appliances and public facilities within the shop complex.
  • Responsible for stock levels of all consumables and cleaning goods ensuring the smooth running of the Coffee Shop area. Authorisation is required from the Centre Manager for all non-essential purchases.
  • Maintain accurate records of all purchases.
  • Comply with all Health& Safety/Food & Hygiene legislation and guidelines within the Coffee Shop area.

About you:
You will have previous experience supervising a café-style kitchen or similar and preparing and serving a basic range of coffee shop food. Excellent communication skills, knowledge of food hygiene, and the ability to work well under pressure are all essential. If you have a Level 2 Food Safety certificate that would be ideal, although training will be provided if not. An ability to bake would be advantageous.

Locations: Glenda Spooner Farm (Somerton, Somerset) & Penny Farm (Blackpool, Lancashire)

Glenda Spooner Farm and Penny Farm are looking for friendly and reliable individuals to join our Visitor Centre team as casual front of house staff. Shifts are available during the lunchtime period on Wednesdays during school holidays and at weekends, subject to availability.

This is a great opportunity for anyone who enjoys working in a lively and welcoming environment providing excellent service to visitors. You will help serve food and drinks, handle till transactions, keep the café clean and tidy and support the smooth day-to-day operations while following all hygiene and safety standards.

We’re looking for people who are comfortable in a busy café environment and have an enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
