Meet Flicker Shorlands

***Recently, a small number of young ponies at Glenda Spooner Farm have experienced cold-like symptoms and have tested positive for a bacterial infection called Strep Zoo. Therefore, due to temporary restrictions at this centre, we are unable to accept applications for this horse at the moment. This is a precautionary measure and we look forward to reopening applications as soon as we are able to do so. We appreciate your patience and encourage you to revisit this profile for updates.*** Flicker is a gentle pony who is looking for a companion home. He is good to handle and enjoys interaction and would thrive in a home where someone would enjoy building a bond with him. Flicker routinely lives out but could stable as part of a routine if this was introduced gradually to him and he could see his equine friends. The ideal home for Flicker would be one where he isn't left alone and where he always has a friend to graze with. He will need restricted grazing so ponies on the same management would be perfect. As Flicker can take time to adjust to changes to his routine and environment, we are looking for a rehomer who is confident to recognise his behaviour when he is struggling and who is happy to give him lots of time and support to settle in.

Important stuff

Flicker Shorlands can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Flicker Shorlands is not suitable to be worked.

History

Flicker came in to our care in May 2020 with another gelding due to their owner not being able to provide the care they needed.
