Meet Tinsel

Tinsel is a vey pretty pony who loves to investigate. She is a really friendly little girl who loves fuss and attention and has an inquisitive nature. Tinsel has a willing temperament and she will always try hard to do what she is asked. Unfortunately this does not always extend to staying where she should as the little minx is quite happy to squeeze through electric fencing as she considers a quick zap worth it if she can get to better grass the other side! For this reason Tinsel will require good fencing with mains electric and preferably 3 strands of tape. Otherwise Tinsel is a calm, sensible pony who is very good to handle. She also gets on well with others in her herd and makes a lovely non-ridden companion.

Important stuff

This horse is based at Hall Farm, where we’ve been managing a strangles outbreak in some of our horses. They have been screened using guttural pouch lavage (the gold standard test), completed a full course of strangles vaccinations, and spent time in quarantine in a green zone paddock. They are now available for rehoming as part of our phased return to normal activities.

Tinsel can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Tinsel is not suitable to be worked.

History

Tinsel was part of a large RSPCA prosecution case. The owner was later banned from keeping horses and given a suspended prison sentence.
