Meet Lorna

Lorna is a pretty mare who is looking for a new home as a non ridden companion. She came into our care after being found fly grazing and her owner was not able to be traced. Sadly she did not settle in her previous home, however since being back in our care Lorna is getting along well in her herd at the farm. Lorna will need an experienced, knowledgeable handler. If you would like to offer Lorna a home please do apply online.
Important stuff
This horse is based at Hall Farm, where we’ve been managing a strangles outbreak in some of our horses. They have been screened using guttural pouch lavage (the gold standard test), completed a full course of strangles vaccinations, and spent time in quarantine in a green zone paddock. They are now available for rehoming as part of our phased return to normal activities.
Lorna can never be ridden or driven.
All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Lorna is not suitable to be worked.
History
Lorna was part of a herd of 70 ponies who were removed by a local council in Wales after they were discovered fly grazing.
