Meet Olina

Olina is a pretty little mare. She is a nervous pony who will require an experienced handler to give her confidence. It wilt take her some time to trust new people and she has to be allowed to do this at her own pace without rushing her. New situations are particularly stressful for her but a calm, patient handler is key to giving her reassurance. Olina has started to enjoy a little bit of fuss and attention, but again this must be done on her terms when she feels safe. Olina is not suitable for a child handler. Olina gets on well with most in her herd and avoids any trouble. She is best suited to a quiet yard and a regular routine when her true personality will shine through. Although Olina is not suitable to ride, she has the potential to make a delightful little field companion to another pony with similar dietary requirements.

Important stuff

Olina can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Olina is not suitable to be worked.

History

Olina was one of a large group of Icelandic ponies who came into our care after there were serious concerns for their welfare.
