Meet Hope's Little Apache

Hope's Little Apache is ready to be rehomed as a non-ridden companion. He is looking for a quiet home where he can live with other geldings on restricted grazing. Apache is good to handle in all ways and is the sweetest boy to be around, but he is a sensitive soul who is looking for a rehomer who will take the time for him to settle and to build a relationship with them. Apache was unhandled when he arrived at the farm and due to his age, it took him a little while to learn to trust and establish his skills but he is now good with all day-to-day handling. We feel Apache has some historic trauma with the farrier as this does still worry him, but we have worked really hard using positive reinforcement to build his confidence and help him feel comfortable throughout the process. He is now confident with our farrier and is able to be quietly trimmed. We are looking for a knowledgeable rehomer who has previous practical experience of clicker training to help him with his transition into a new home and to continue the process with the farrier. Ideally Apache would stay within an hour of Glenda Spooner Farm so that we can offer continued support from his current handler and potentially our farrier where needed.

Important stuff

Hope's Little Apache can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Hope's Little Apache is not suitable to be worked.

History
