Meet Raana

Despite her age Raana was completely unhandled on arrival at Hall Farm so she is not overly fond of a lot of fuss. She has been on a steep learning curve after leading such a sheltered life but she is adapting well. Raana is proving to be a bright, sensitive soul who thrives on a regular routine. Although Raana has a tendency to invade your space when anxious, this is more down to her insecurity as she is too polite to be rude or bargy. Farrier visits were initially quite stressful for her but with a lot of work from our grooms and farrier team, Raana has started to accept this more. To maintain consistency we recommend Raana has her feet picked out daily so this just becomes part of her normal routine. Raana has started to learn to be stabled for short periods providing she has a friend next to her at all times, but she is better suited to a home where she can live out 24/7 or have access to an open stable so the choice is hers to be in or out. Raana will require a calm, sympathetic handler who has the time to spend on more education. A person with experience of the sensitive Arab nature or an interest in equine behaviour would be ideal. This sweet little mare really does deserve the opportunity to let her true personality shine through.

Important stuff

Raana can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Raana is not suitable to be worked.

History

Raana was one of a large group of hoses who were at risk due to the failing health of their owner. They were all virtually unhandled.
