Meet Tottie

Tottie is ready to rehome as a non ridden companion due to not withstanding ridden work. Tottie is a friendly, sweet natured little mare who was returned recently through no fault of her own. She is good to catch, handle, groom, bath and for the vet and farrier. She gets on well with others and is currently living out with shelter, but will happily stable as well. Tottie can become a little stiff in her knees if kept in for longer periods of time, so the ideal home for her would be a set up where she can be out all, if not, most of the time. She would love to be taken out for inhand walks to explore and help with her weight. She is a good doer, so a home with equines who need their grazing restricted as well would be ideal. She is a lovely natured pony, who would make a great companion for another horse. If you can offer Tottie a home, please apply online.

Important stuff

Tottie can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Tottie is not suitable to be worked.

History

Tottie was removed from poor conditions along with 8 other ponies. After they were rescued and assessed, Tottie was diagnosed with a dislocated patella. She was also in foal and subsequently had a colt foal after arriving at Penny Farm.
