Take on one of the world's biggest challenges in aid of horse welfare.

Are you looking for a big challenge? And we do mean BIG. Well, look no further than the largest free-standing mountain in the world, Mount Kilimanjaro. We offer a unique opportunity to join a team of fellow adventurers for 12 days that will change your life and at the same time raise funds to support our work.

  • Trek through five unspoilt ecosystems
  • Journey above the clouds to experience some of the most picturesque views on the planet
  • Challenge yourself both physically and mentally as you scale the world’s largest free-standing mountain, a dormant volcano
  • A journey that culminates in a spectacular night climb to the summit

Although this is not a journey for the faint-hearted, you do not need to be a super athlete to complete it. You will need to take time to prepare and train to be ready but this expedition has a 96% success rate for reaching the summit.

Registration Fee: £595.00
Minimum Sponsorship: £5,355.00 (2023) or £5,795.00 (2024)

Why raise funds for World Horse Welfare?

If you choose to raise funds for World Horse Welfare, you’ll be helping horses to live better lives around the world. As an international equine welfare charity, we strive to improve the horse-human relationship in all of its guises. We help horses in need, horses in sport and leisure, and horses used in work and production. By working with owners, communities, organisations, institutions and governments, we have a track record of improving welfare standards and stamping out suffering in the UK and worldwide through hands-on care, research, education and influence.

We run the UK’s largest equine rescue and rehoming scheme and, on average, we take in more than 300 horses and ponies each year and aim to find them loving new homes after their expert rehabilitation. We also help to improve the lives of tens of thousands of working horses, mules, and donkeys – and the families who rely on them for their livelihoods – through our international programmes which work with local partner organisations and horse owning communities in 17 countries in Africa, Latin America, and Asia.

By fundraising for us, you’ll be helping horses who need it most in the UK or further afield. Thank you so much for considering supporting this vital work.
