Meet Helen

Helen is a lovely mare who is now looking for a home as a non-ridden companion. Helen was originally rescued in 2020 along with eight other ponies, all of whom were unhandled but very friendly. Since being with us Helen has been successfully rehomed and has only returned due a change in her rehomers situation. Helen is a gentle and sweet mare with good social skills and she is very good to handle. As Helen was rescued as part of a mixed herd, she could potentially live with a suitable gelding if introduced slowly. She could stable part time and would love a home where she could have a bit of fuss and attention from her rehomer and equine friends. Helen could go for walks in hand and participate in low level horse agility. She will need restricted grazing and could potentially be taught to be left for short periods in the right home and with a rehomer who would be happy to take lots of time to introduce this sensibly.

Important stuff

Helen can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Helen is not suitable to be worked.

History

Helen arrived at the centre in August 2020 with several other New Forest ponies. They were all underweight and had not had any handling. Helen was successfully rehomed and only returned due to a change in her rehomer's circumstances
