Meet Eldorado

Eldorado is looking for his new home as a non-ridden companion. Ed, as he is known at the farm, is good to handle and while he does have mild sweet itch he is good to have this managed with regular baths, creams and a Boett rug as needed. He can stay on his own for short periods and although he is turned out with geldings, he has had mares directly next to him so could potentially live with a mare. We are looking for a home with someone who has experience of looking after a pony with sweet itch and is a quiet, competent handler. The ideal home would be one where Eldorado has restricted grazing and either access to a yard or to a stable to help manage his sweet itch. He is a super little chap and will make a great friend to another pony.

Important stuff

Eldorado can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Eldorado is not suitable to be worked.

History

Eldorado was part of a group of 20 ponies that came in to our care in May 2021. All were unhandled, in poor condition and Eldorado was entire.
