Meet Sprint

Sprint is a sweet little mare with a very willing temperament. Once she has learnt to trust her handler she is perfectly behaved and happy to do whatever is asked of her. Sprint tends to be quite high up in the herd dynamics and usually prefers one best friend. She generally likes to keep herself to herself and prefers a quiet life with no hassle. Sprint is prone to getting scabs behind her knees but these are easy to control if kept clean and ointment applied when required. Sprint is not suitable to ride but she will make a lovely non-ridden companion to others.

Important stuff

This horse is based at Hall Farm, where we’ve been managing a strangles outbreak in some of our horses. They have been screened using guttural pouch lavage (the gold standard test), completed a full course of strangles vaccinations, and spent time in quarantine in a green zone paddock. They are now available for rehoming as part of our phased return to normal activities.

Sprint can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Sprint is not suitable to be worked.

History

Sprint came into our care with a group of others from a welfare situation.
