Jazz is a stunning Friesian gelding and has one of the biggest characters on the farm. He is such a dude of a horse who is very mischievous and always full of fun. Jazz is extremely friendly and loves people; so much so that he comes to call in the field. He is strictly a non-ridden companion as he did not stay sound or comfortable in ridden work; however, he has a lot to offer as a companion to other horses and is always playing with his friends in the field. Jazz is naturally quite a dominant horse and likes to be in charge but is never nasty with the other horses; he is very sociable and liked by all his field mates. Jazz is well mannered for the vet and farrier but can be bolshy if he does not have a confident handler to keep his manners in check. He is a very good doer so will need his weight monitored and grazing restricted during the summer but if he is overly restricted for too long, he will become bargy. Jazz is a cheeky chap and if he is left tied up his party trick is untying himself or sometimes taking his headcollar off completely, he never wanders far and luckily is excellent to catch. He needs a gelding only herd but will live over the fence from mares quite happily. Once settled into a new home Jazz may be happy to stay in a stable while his friends were being ridden but would become stressed if left alone in the field. Jazz is currently living out full time but does have a rug for prolonged wet weather. The way to Jazz’s heart is not your usual horse treats; he loves bananas and will be your best friend if he gets one as a treat. Jazz never fails to make his groom laugh and there is never a dull moment with him around, if he sounds right for you, please apply online.
