Meet Cratloe Blondie

Blondie was one of 20 horses being smuggled out of the UK, probably for slaughter. This was the 2nd case of this nature we had experienced within 12 months. Poor little Blondie was barely 6 months old, completely unhandled and totally terrified. Since then he has come on leaps and bounds with his true personality shining through. He is proving to be an inquisitive young man with a quick mind who enjoys human contact. He can get a bit stressed and strong in new situations but for his age he is generally a sensible chap. Blondie still has a lot of growing to do and could possibly make 15.0hh although this is only an estimate as we have no knowledge of his breeding. Blondie could have the potential to back to ride in the future depending how he develops as he matures. He must not be worked until he is at least 5 years old and he will have a maximum rider weight limit of 10.5 to 11 stones if he makes his expected height. We are looking for an experienced adult home for Blondie with previous experience of producing young horses.

Important stuff

This horse is based at Hall Farm, where we’ve been managing a strangles outbreak in some of our horses. They have been screened using guttural pouch lavage (the gold standard test), completed a full course of strangles vaccinations, and spent time in quarantine in a green zone paddock. They are now available for rehoming as part of our phased return to normal activities.

Cratloe Blondie could be worked in the future.

History

Blondie was one of 20 horses discovered being trafficked illegally out of the UK. He was barely 6 months old.
