Meet Ffermymorlais Hannah

Hannah was one of 26 equines cruelly crammed into a lorry to be illegally smuggled out of the UK. It is believed they were destined for a slaughter house in Europe. Hannah was pregnant on arrival and had teeth issues, all of which impacted her behaviour. She was in pain, defensive and frightened. Since giving birth, the foal being weaned and having corrective dentistry, Hannah has transformed into a totally different pony. She is now a lovely little mare with a very sweet nature. She gets on well with others in her herd although she tends to keep herself to herself. We can only imagine what horrors Hannah has been through and this plucky little mare now deserves a second chance in a loving home where she can relax and start to enjoy life again.

Important stuff

This horse is based at Hall Farm, where we’ve been managing a strangles outbreak in some of our horses. They have been screened using guttural pouch lavage (the gold standard test), completed a full course of strangles vaccinations, and spent time in quarantine in a green zone paddock. They are now available for rehoming as part of our phased return to normal activities.

Ffermymorlais Hannah can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Ffermymorlais Hannah is not suitable to be worked.

History

Hannah was one of 26 equines crammed into a lorry to be illegally exported out of the UK. It is believed they were destined for a slaughter house in Europe. She gave birth to a healthy filly 5 months later.
