Meet Amber

Beautiful mare Amber is looking for her new home as a companion. When she originally arrived into our centre in Norfolk, Amber was overweight and suffering from laminitis. She is now a healthy weight and is a friendly and bright little mare to be around. Busy by nature, Amber likes to come straight over to see you and investigate. She is a lovely, interactive equine friend who bonds closely to those ponies she lives with and has good social skills. While good to handle generally, when worried or overwhelmed Amber has been known to display a small rear when in hand. Once relaxed and in routine and with a handler who can recognise her signals, Amber doesn’t show this behaviour but a rehomer who is confident with this is essential. Amber could stable part time in a quiet environment with her equine friends in sight, will need restricted grazing and doesn’t like to be left alone.

Important stuff

Amber can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Amber is not suitable to be worked.

History

Amber came into our care from a welfare situation. She had very overgrown feet and was lame.
