Astrid

Meet Astrid

Astrid is a bonny wee cob who is ready for rehoming as a companion. She loves attention from her groom so is always happy to come in to be brushed. Astrid is well mannered for all of her handling, for the vet or farrier and like most cobs will do anything for food; a treat is always the way to her heart. She did not stand up to work but is sound and happy as a companion. Astrid will happily live with mares and geldings; once settled she could be left in a stable while her friends were being ridden. She is quite a chilled out wee mare but likes her own space if she is being fed. Astrid has CPL along with mallenders/sallenders so someone with experience with this would be ideal to manage her skin out on loan. She will need her legs clipped out regularly and is currently on a supplement to manage any swelling. Astrid is best suited to living with other good doers on restricted grazing as she can gain weight easily. She will need someone that is very proactive when it comes to worming as she has had a history of encysted redworm. If you think this beautiful little cob sounds like the right companion for your ponies please apply online.

Important stuff

Astrid can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Astrid is not suitable to be worked.

History

Astrid came into World Horse Welfare care from the SSPCA as part of a welfare case with four other ponies.
