Meet Riversbend Diamond Jubilee

Diamond is a very special Eriskay mare looking for her new home as a companion. Having been signed over as part of our Help for Horse Owners scheme, Diamond has been living in a small group of mares here at the centre. When relaxed and in a routine, Diamond is good to handle, loves a fuss and is very affectionate. She is good to groom and to handle with the vet and farrier and bonds strongly with the humans in her life. Diamond initially came into the centre with separation anxiety, she was very wary of new horses in her space and she really struggled with new routines and field changes. Happily, she has come on leaps and bounds with her training but can still be sensitive to changes in her routine and new horses around her. We are looking for a rehomer for Diamond who is able to recognise her behaviour when she is struggling and who is able to give her lots of time and support to settle in. She would thrive in a set up with a quiet routine and with horses who have good social skills to help her when she is worried. She is a lovely field companion to horses she knows well and bonds strongly with her equine friends. When nervous and unsure she does still get strong in hand and so a rehomer who is used to strong horses and who is happy to continue her training is a must. Diamond will need restricted grazing and wet hay as part of her management, she would prefer to live out full time and isn't able to be left alone. Diamond will need to travel safely loose in a lorry to her new home.

Important stuff

Riversbend Diamond Jubilee can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Riversbend Diamond Jubilee is not suitable to be worked.
