Horse Care Workshops – Session 1 Feeding and Weight Management

New for 2026 – join our team for a series of workshops aimed at anyone interested in learning more about horse care and stable management. There are a limited number of spaces available to ensure that the workshop can be tailored to the needs of the group from first time owner to the those who just want to learn more.

The first session will concentrate on feeding, weight management and body condition scoring.  We will discuss and look at examples of forage v concentrate feed and safe feeding practices. The session will end with a discussion about weight and condition scoring.  The session will be in relevant areas of the centre including outdoors so please come dressed for the weather and in suitable footwear. 

There will be lots of opportunities to ask questions during and after the session. 

Free farm entry is included in the ticket price and the coffee shop will be open too so you can enjoy a full day of horses – perfect!

How do I book an event?

You can book tickets quickly and easily via our event ticket form. You can only make one booking per transaction, so if you’re planning to attend multiple events please book each date separately.

To book your tickets you’ll just need to select the event date and the number of tickets required. You’ll receive an email confirming the details of your event booking – please keep this safe! You’ll need to either print it out or have it to hand on your phone when you visit to confirm proof of your booking. 

Please note that you can only book a set number of tickets via our website, so if you’re looking to arrange a larger group booking please get in touch with us by emailing gfevents@worldhorsewelfare.org and we’ll be very happy to help.

What if I need to change or cancel my booking?

Tickets are non-refundable once purchased.  If you cannot attend on the date for which they were purchased (even if this is due to circumstances beyond your control) a refund or exchange cannot be guaranteed. Please contact us to see if you are entitled to a refund or exchange by emailing gfevents@worldhorsewelfare.org.
