Meet Daffodile

Daffodile is a very gentle, older lady now ready to find a new home as a non ridden companion. Following her initial rehabilitation she is now really good to handle but does like a quiet approach. On her routine arrival exam by the vet, we found out that Daffodile doesn't have sight in her left eye. She has adapted well to this but does like to know if you are approaching on her blind side. Due to her age and poor dental condition on arrival she will also need 6 monthly dental checks. She requires a little more grazing than would be the norm for a native pony due to her dentition and age, she also loves spending time with her equine friends. Daffodile would make a superb companion as she has been a mummy herself so is very used to looking after others. She currently lives out 24/7 but she could be stabled if this was part of a routine.

Important stuff

Daffodile can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Daffodile is not suitable to be worked.

History

Daffodile came in as part of a welfare group in very poor condition and with a foal at foot in the Autumn of 2022.
