Meet Lean and Keen (Keenie)
Handsome Lean and Keen (Keenie) is a big, friendly giant who enjoys nothing more than a groom and a fuss being made of him. He would adore a new home where he received lots of love and attention. Keenie is always one of the first to greet you in the field and is a very friendly chap. He is well mannered for all his handling, and for the vet. Keenie does need a few treats when getting his feet done by the farrier as a bit of a distraction. He adores his friends and behaves perfectly if he comes in with company, but on occasions when brought in alone he has tried to go back to his friends in the field therefore needs a competent handler. Keenie is strictly a non-ridden companion due to kissing spine and is very much loving his well-earned retirement. He might be an Ex-racehorse, but he much prefers living life in the slow lane and is a chilled-out dude. Keenie was very reactive when he arrived at the farm so will need handled consistently from a confident rehomer to ensure he maintains his current behaviour. He was successfully treated for ulcers at Belwade Farm which has made him much happier and more comfortable. Keenie requires 6-monthly dental checks to ensure he stays comfortable. He doesn't like being left alone but will happily mix with mares and geldings; he is never at the top of the pecking order and gets along well with the other horses. Keenie will need rugged over the winter if living out but would also happily stable next to his friends, and he would enjoy being pampered in his retirement. If you think this lovely horse sounds right to join your horses, please apply online.
