Meet Valentine

Valentine is looking for her new home as a companion. Good to handle, Valentine is full of character and would make a wonderful addition to any herd. She will need a home with other equine friends on restricted grazing, she could stable part time and she could learn to be left for short periods with a rehomer who is happy to spend lots of time teaching her this skill once she is settled in her new home. Valentine needs her feathers regularly trimmed short and washed as needed. Initially unsure of this skill when she came into us here at the centre, she has thrived with positive reinforcement training and really engages when being taught in a predictable, consistent way. After going through a programme of remedial farriery, Valentine is now straight forward to trim however we would like to speak to her new farrier after rehoming to chat through her journey and what to look for moving forward.

Important stuff

Valentine can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Valentine is not suitable to be worked.

History

Valentine came into the centre after being abandoned in poor bodily condition, with lice, overgrown feet, and the start of rain scald across her back.
