Meet Mary Darling

Mary Darling is looking for a home as a non ridden companion. She is a lovely little pony with a friendly character but isn't one to want to stand and be fussed over for long periods of time. She is great to catch, handle, groom and for the vet and farrier. She can still be a little jumpy in new situations if there are any sudden movements and takes a lot of reassurance from her handler. She is currently living out un-rugged with shelter but will come in to a stable to be groomed and for weight management. She does, however, always like to be able to see her friends and can get worried if they are out of sight. She loves going for in-hand walks around the farm and we would love to find her a home where she can continue these. She can also be lunged if needed to help with any weight management. She needs her weight watching all year round so will be better suited to a home with equines of similar needs. She does not like being on her own so will need a home where she will have the company of another equine at all times. If you can offer Mary Darling a home, please apply online.

Important stuff

Mary Darling can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Mary Darling is not suitable to be worked.

History

Mary Darling came into World Horse Welfare after she was found abandoned underweight and unhandled with a small group of ponies.
