Meet Tanya

Tanya is the tiniest pony with the biggest character you will ever meet. She is larger than life and adores attention from her groom. Tanya doesn't know that she's a small Shetland pony and she likes to show off in the field with her friends. She will happily live out full time in a mixed herd and is so confident that she gets along best with laid back ponies. Tanya is full of fun and mischief so will need a confident handler out on loan and is not suitable to be handled by small children. She is not overly fond of the vet and will object to being injected so will need someone competent for this to continue improving. Tanya is good for the farrier but may need a treat on occasion if she begins to fidget. She loves coming in to be pampered with her field mates, she will come in alone but won't stand for as long before protesting about where her friends are. Due to her size, she is better suited to living with other small ponies on restricted grazing as she is a good doer. Whoever takes her on loan will never be bored as she always keeps her groom on her toes with her antics. If you think you could offer Tanya a new home with other small ponies please apply online.

Important stuff

Tanya can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Tanya is not suitable to be worked.

History

Tanya came into our care along with seven other ponies following concerns for their welfare in 2014.
