Meet Joey
Joey is a nervous boy who will need an experienced, sympathetic handler., They will need to be prepared to spend the time on gaining his trust slowly and without rushing him. Joey can be quite withdrawn until he feels safe, but with the right person he will really come out of his shell once settled. He is a genuine boy who will try his best and he has always been good for the vet and the farrier. He is also confident to be stabled. Joey is quite chilled in the paddock with his companions although he can be weather sensitive and more jumpy in windy conditions or heavy rain. Joey has clearly been through a tough time and although he will never be suitable to ride, he is such a lovely boy who deserves to find a second chance in a kind loving home. As Joey was castrated late in life he can only share with geldings.
Important stuff
Joey can never be ridden or driven.
All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Joey is not suitable to be worked.
History
Joey was an RSPCA prosecution case
